Australian Wine Industry Veteran Joins Conformia
Bruce McDougall to Strengthen Global WinePRO Operations

Redwood City, CA May 10, 2004 Conformia Software Inc., the leader in Product Conformance Management (PCM) software for regulated process oriented industries such as beverage alcohol and life sciences, today announced that Bruce McDougall, production veteran in the Australian wine industry, has joined the company's Global Wine Advisory Board.

McDougall is an Australian wine industry veteran with over 30 years of agribusiness experience including executive roles with Southcorp Wines, McGuigan Simeon Wines and others. McDougall currently runs his own consultancy and over the years has worked balancing vineyard production, purchased grapes and wine, with the demands of a diverse portfolio of brands and wines, in both Australia and California.

"Upon reading of the introduction of WinePRO in the U.S. market, it was apparent to me that the system was designed specifically to help winemakers and production managers to optimize variable vintage results within defined cost and quality parameters," said McDougall. "The fact that WinePRO delivers in real time, across multiple sites and is scalable based on the size of the winery, makes it a perfect fit for the Australian wine industry."

"With Bruce's experience and expertise in the Australian wine industry, he will be an invaluable asset as we expand WinePRO into the Australian market," said Joe Prang CEO of Conformia. "We recently completed the 2004 Vintage with WinePRO in Australia and Bruce assisted us to develop our wine operations and establish relationships. These areas, as well as his practical operations experience, will present Conformia with opportunities as we move forward."

McDougall, a Commerce graduate of University of Queensland, started his career in 1967 with KPMG in Brisbane. McDougall spent from 1970 1989 at Agricultural Investments Australia Ltd where he served in roles as general manager and managing director. He then started his own consultant business and focused on agribusiness investment consulting, something he continues to do today. McDougall spent nearly 10 years (1993-2002) working for Southcorp Wines Pty Limited in Adelaide in roles such as business development manager, general manager and national property and resource manager. Most recently, McDougall was the group resource manager for McGuigan Simeon Wines Limited in Adelaide.

"In my opinion, the WinePRO system paired with the support Conformia provides, places it light years ahead of anything else offered to date in Australia. They are making a significant contribution to the continued development of an internationally competitive industry. In addition, the point and click nature of information retrieval increases overall personnel efficiency and cost effectiveness," added McDougall.

Based on over 40 person years of extensive research and development into winemaking, production, and regulatory best practices, WinePRO is designed to help the wine industry manage their wine product planning, enable cost driven winemaking, increase real-time enterprise visibility, and enable full traceability from "bottle-to-vine".

WinePRO covers the complete winemaking process from harvest through bottling with solution modules for work order planning & management, blend management, tank management, barrel management, lab/quality management, cellar management, compliance reporting, bottle-to-vine traceability and costing. It also covers the full brand life cycle from blend planning, through production, and product history management. WinePRO automatically generates real-time business performance reports for a user-defined period based on the activities in the period. These capabilities are just some of the primary appeal to winemakers and production managers.

"Bruce joining our Global Wine Advisory Board validates that there is a need for Conformia's WinePRO solution in Australia and New Zealand," said Neil Kataria, Co-Founder and Director of Beverage Alcohol Solutions. "Furthermore, he extends and validates that Conformia built WinePRO from a global perspective to meet the needs of wineries around the world."

McDougall is a member of numerous industry committees associated with, the Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation, Winemakers Federation of Australia, Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture, and SA Wine & Brandy Industry Association Inc.
